#LoveOnTYM

Welcome to the White People for The Yarn Mission Blog. Right now it's just Jeanne writing, but as people join us, we'll each sign our posts. We will moderate all comments, so stay away haters. We welcome dialog with people who want to dialog, but we don't want you haters here.

Inspired by a back-and-forth CheyOnna and I had with some white knitters who felt entitled to be taught about racism from her, she wrote a piece about the burden white folks place on her and other Black people, and the persistent racism among white knitters and fiber artists.

Inspired by CheyOnna, I have an idea. Every time I learn something from a Black person, which happens a lot for me, I'll put some money into a jar and donate the money to The Yarn Mission's campaign for sustainability. My jar happens to be a knitting bowl my spouse Liz made for me.

Would you join me? Post your pics on Instagram, Facebook, & Twitter. #LoveOnTYM and #JarCoins4TYM
